Harris Ranch |
The Harris Ranch is situated in the rugged Missouri breaks of Montana. The ranch is nestled in big, rough country outlined by long pine-covered ridges and deep timbered draws and coulees. A large herd of elk feast on the lush hay meadows along the Musselshell River and are carefully and thoughtfully managed by the owner. Pope & Young class bulls are harvest each year – a 402 and a 411 1/2 bull have been taken off this ranch! Additional game animals such as whitetail, mule deer and pheasants are found on the ranch.
The ranch consists of 2,400 deeded acres with an additional 7,890 acres of BLM and Montana State lands. Of the deeded acres, 330+ acres are flood irrigated from the Musselshell River – the ranch produced over 800 tons of feed in 2013. The Harris Ranch runs about 200 cows and has very functional corrals that can handle as many as 400 cows. Other ranch improvements consist of a 900 square foot main home that was recently updated, a “Hunter’s House” and a barn.
